In stockings and tights, denier (D) is a unit of measurement that indicates the thickness and weight of the yarn used to make the hosiery.

5-20D: ULTRA-SHEER
Extremely thin, transparent, and creates a “barely-there” or airbrushed effect. They will clearly show your skin underneath. Perfect for special occasions, summer fashion or achieving that ‘barely-there’ look.

20-30D: SHEER
Offers a light veil of colour or a “nude makeup” effect while still allowing your skin tone to show through. A perfect balance between transparency, smoothing and strength.

30-50D: SEMI-OPAQUE
Sits perfectly in the middle with a matte finish. Suitable for colder months, school, everyday wear and more durability. Almost complete coverage with a hit of skin underneath.

50-100D: OPAQUE
Thick, solid, and fully covers the skin. High denier tights give a deep, rich colour and have a matte finish. Ideal for colder months and when you need complete coverage.
